Common Faults
A transmission control module, or TCM for short, is an essential component in modern-day vehicles that manage and regulate the transmission system's operation. It receives input signals from various sensors in the car, such as the throttle position sensor, speed sensor, and gear position sensor, to determine the optimal shift points and ensure smooth gear changes. The TCM also monitors the transmission fluid temperature and pressure to prevent overheating or damage to the transmission. Overall, the TCM plays a crucial role in maintaining the vehicle's performance, fuel efficiency, and reliability.
Are you having any trouble with your Transmission Control Module (TCM)? Don't worry, we're here to help. Whether it's a common problem or something more complex, we can expertly diagnose and fix your TCM. Just fill out our test form today, and we'll take care of the rest.
Commonly, these sensors fail on Mercedes B Class CVT and Merceds 722.9 7G-Tronic conductor plates. This can cause the TCM and ECM light to be iluminated on the instrument cluser and can cause lack of gear changing or banging into gear. Fault codes relating to the speed sensors may be present within the TCM and potentially twinned with fault codes relating to clutch slipping or clutch plate overheating.
We have developed our own in-house techniques to test Transmission Control Modules and their speed sensors. Please fill out our test form tody to get your TCM tested and rebuilt by VCUS.
Transmission Range Sensor Failure
Have you noticed that your PRNDS lights are flashing or not displaying at all? You may have a fault code such as P0705 - Transmission Range Sensor stored in your TCM. This can make it impossible to select gears. If you drive an Audi CVT vehicle, you should be aware that these vehicles are particularly susceptible to this type of failure. Additionally, you may see output speed sensor fault codes such as P0722. Fortunately, VCUS can repair this type of failure on all Audi CVT Control Modules and other vehicle manufacturers. To get your TCM tested and rebuilt, simply fill out our test form today.
Solenoid Failures
If you are experiencing issues with your automatic transmission, it's important to know that solenoids play a critical role in its operation. These solenoids are controlled by the Transmission Control Module, and if there are any faults in their activation or circuitry, it can result in a variety of symptoms such as loss of gear selection, loss of drive, and warning lights on the instrument cluster. If you suspect that you have a solenoid fault with your transmission unit, you should fill out our test form today to get your TCM tested and rebuilt.
